Parasailing Catalina

Experience the thrill of floating through the air with California’s premier parasail operator. Parasailing is a serene and peaceful thrill ride. The lift off and landing is slow and controlled, so it is not a scary experience for the riders. It begins with being outfitted with a life vest and harness, then you are seated on the back “flight” deck of the boat. Your harness is clipped to the parachute and the captain smoothly releases the line that connects you to the boat. You will just lift off and start to fly behind the boat like a human kite! What could be more exciting? This is another tour that we don’t want to see folks working on their fear of heights! So, if you don’t think you can handle it, you can still ride along at a discounted fee and watch you’re travel buddies fly.

Safety First

Parasailing is safe because they make it safe. Thanks to their near 4 decades of flying experience and operating procedures. California Parasail is proud to have had ZERO incidents to date. They have the most sophisticated equipment the industry makes, they don’t fly in high winds, stay at least 1600 ft. from the shore in winds over 10 mph, and do not fly in severe thunderstorms. Your safety is their priority! Dress for variable weather, light jackets are always a good idea on the water and sunscreen is a must if you are sensitive to the sun. Bathing suits and beach attire is appropriate, towels and bottled water are a great idea. Leave your valuables at the hotel or in a locker unless you have a dry bag to protect them from overspray that can happen naturally with wind and waves. You may take a camera up at your own risk and they also offer a digital photo package as another option to capture your adventure.

Words of Wisdom

This redundant warning comes at the end of all our articles because it is so often ignored. Avalon is a small town and everything can and will sell out in the peak summer season and on major holidays. Don’t be the cause of your own disappointment. Booking in advance with this tour actually saves you money. Check their website to see if they are offering their “early bird” special for a decent discount. Be sure to book your transportation to the island before you book any tours and waste everyone’s time. If you want to stay the night, get that hotel secured first and ask if they have boat or helicopter discount or reservation service to check that step off your to do list. Now get to planning your next trip and set your sights on Catalina Island!
